The Cigna Group Risk & Underwriting Associate Analyst in Antwerp, Belgium
The Risk & Underwriting Analyst delivers professional activities focusing on SME book of business. There will be a large focus on using manual raters for sending out large volumes of quotes based on data received from sales and client management. You will become an expert of our manual tools. Taking ownership of you own book of business with SME clients you will also learn to use our experience rating tools for all risks (medical, life, disability, …). Doing your job as a Risk & Underwriting Analyst helps you to provide standard professional advice to clients and client management. You will also perform claims analysis as part of our risk assessment. Giving support to our senior underwriters and underwriting manager will help you develop additional skills and insights to be able to grow your own potential.
The Essential Functions of the role include:
Prepare new business pricing using our manual rater
Prepare monthly/quarterly reporting related to reinsurance, client reporting, etc
Administration tasks, i.e. update sales force, updating client overviews,…
Support larger renewals for review of our senior underwriters, prepare experience rates and other files.
Support underwriting manager for preparation of leadership meetings using case specific and book of business knowledge
Active participation in team meetings, sharing best practices
Ownership of own small-medium sized contracts book of business:
Assess profitability and pricing
Review insurance contracts for annual renewal
Working with stakeholders on renewal
Growth of existing business
Calculating benefit differentials
Required Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent trough work experience.
Be a team player. Proactively share ideas and best practices with peers. Challenge when appropriate
You are fluent in English, preferably in Dutch as well and have a passive knowledge of French
You have strong analytical skills
You are a good communicator and negotiator
You are a problem solver
You can work independently
You have strong reporting skills
You have a good knowledge of MS Office (Access, Excel).
