Drives the leadership talent development processes for Cigna Global IT. Accountability for driving high potential development and high impact position placement. Participates in and guides the succession planning process. Promotes decisions that take diversity into account as a factor. Provides focus on diversity of those identified in the development processes. Identifies high impact positions and career paths. Leads early career identification and validation process for the function. Partners with Senior HR management to offer feedback on the high potential population segment and to drive career management and growth of this group. Manages special projects as assigned. Strong strategic/HR planning skills; development focused.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides thought leadership to define organizational approach and content for high potential development from future leaders through to senior leadership

  • Provides learning needs analysis, design, development, assessment, implementation and evaluation of training materials to ensure alignment with business strategy; apply business scrutiny as to what to develop in-house versus purchase

  • Works with external educators, vendors and consultants to develop and deliver modern and contextually-appropriate content

  • Ensures budget is spent wisely, and programs are efficient vehicles for training, development, engagement and retention

  • Designs tiered programs strategy and plans for high potential development (i.e. Senior Leaders, Emerging Leaders, Future Leaders, Technical Experts, etc.). Defines program objectives, designs and delivers curriculum which includes a blended approach to learning that includes coaching, classroom training, experiential learning and self-paced learning

  • Utilizes facilitation skills in conducting leadership and professional development programs for early career to senior levels across the function

  • Acts as organizational coach delivering assessment, evaluations and providing coaching and mentoring to mid – senior level leaders across the company as part of CCL 360 team

  • Stays abreast of latest developments in management, leadership, and organizational development areas to serve as subject matter expert and internal consultant regarding critical people issues, team effectiveness, change management, employee engagement and cultural transformation

  • Seek, share and adopt ideas and best practices inside and outside the Company to deliver cutting edge talent development solutions

SCOPE & DIMENSIONS

  • Reports directly to the HRO for Cigna Global IT

  • Manages a team of 8 (2 program leaders, 4 program managers, 2 HR analysts)

  • Externally recognized and award-winning program suite includes:

  • 30 IT Leadership Program Associates (Band 5)

  • 135 Principal Technologists (Bands 4/5)

  • 90 LEAD IT (Band 4). Launched in 2016

  • 210 TECDP Associates (Band 3)

  • 80+ Interns/Co-ops

  • 250+ Program Alumni

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of experience in human resources, talent development, talent acquisition, diversity programming, and learning & development

  • Proven ability to think strategically and translate strategies into actionable plans

  • Significant direct management experience with demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams and grow next generation HR talent

  • Demonstrated instructional design expertise; strong knowledge of adult learning methodologies and ability to build practical, applicable and results-driven learning programs

  • Strong stakeholder management/relationship building skills combined with coaching skills

  • Ability to adapt to and lead organizational change

  • Advanced facilitation and coaching skills

  • Strong planning skills; comfortable navigating ambiguity and ability to multi-task while delivering high quality results

  • Experience managing external vendor relationships and projects

  • Excellent analytical skills and a proven track record developing and utilizing metrics to drive sound business decisions

  • Experience working cross-culturally with diverse colleagues in a global environment
