The Cigna Group National Competitive Market Insights Advisor in Bloomfield, Connecticut

WORK LOCATION: REMOTE Position with preference to live on East Coast time zone

POSITION SUMMARY

This high impact resource has its main focus around the analyzing of national research activities impacting Affordability, with a focus on items impacting Network initiatives and strategies. Collects and analyzes data to identify market trends and potential competitive forces in the marketplace. Develops and maintains healthcare specific databases involving internally driven and externally derived information sources. Prepares presentations for management regarding competitor analysis. Identifies current and future product development trends on a local, regional, or national basis.

Requires work prioritization, forecasting, scheduling and coordinating resources within assigned projects. Review of Network related activity such as delivery system partnerships, competitive marketplace activity, disruptors, and trends. This position is responsible for working closely with national and field Network Contracting, as well as interdepartmental work teams in gathering and synthesizing competitive intelligence.

This individual may also assist other personnel in Network Development work related to product, unit cost and competitive intelligence. They will be responsible for working in a highly matrixed organization in a collaborative manner and exhibiting behaviors, attitudes and actions that demonstrate a high level of teamwork.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management:

  • Collaborates on research projects and manages the collection and analysis of data to identify market trends, risks and competitive forces, organizes data for easy access and distributes the information to appropriate internal audiences.

  • Presents insights and impacts to senior leadership and matrix partners

  • Leverages resources in other departments in order to achieve greater good for the organization.

  • Internal Consultant:

  • Works collaboratively to support internal clients in Contracting, Sales, Medical Management, Solutions, Marketing and other matrix partners.

  • Maintains library of information related to research and acts as a subject matter expert on specific healthcare services for field Network teams and matrix partners across the organization.

  • Communicates research insights to internal clients and others in the organization that would benefit from this information in easy to comprehend formats that are tailored for the customer.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or Master’s Degree in HealthCare Administration or health-related field preferred.

  • Market research experience required, preferred with primary and secondary research experience in market analysis, business analysis and customer insights

  • 7+ years Managed Healthcare experience or Network Contracting preferred. Alternatively, will consider those with strong market research background and strong understanding of healthcare delivery systems.

  • Strong database management background with 3-5 years’ experience in diverse settings, preferably managed care.

  • Strong PowerPoint presentation experience and skills in communicating complex concepts in summary easy to understand formats hitting on key message points

  • Ability to analyze and interpret both qualitative and quantitative data.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and experience working in an empowered team environment.

  • Self-starter with excellent analytical, technical, and project management skills in a matrix organization.

  • Ability to understand the business objectives as well as underlying data required to support customer needs.

  • Demonstrated ability to work at both the conceptual and very detailed levels and easily shifts between the two.

  • In-depth understanding of managed care business processes, reimbursement methodologies, products, benefits, systems, providers, and utilization management a plus.

  • Proven quantitative and analytical skills.

  • Takes quick, decisive, informed action on issues or problems judged as critical.

  • Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and presentation applications.

  • Technical/Functional expertise: Competitive Intelligence, Market Research, Contracting, Provider Services, Medical Management, Product/Benefits, Project Management.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 97,000 - 161,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
