The Cigna Group Product Strategy and Development Sr. Principal – EviCore in Bloomfield, Connecticut

Provides direction and decision-making to EviCore senior leadership team on strategic Product Strategy decisions. Develops and directs the development of product definition and solution plans to optimize EviCore’s products and services portfolio. Evaluates business opportunities to define and optimize the product portfolio and solution alternatives through analysis and understanding of targeted markets, market trends, new technology, customer business issues and the competitive environment. Works on issues that impact design/selling success or address future concepts, products or technologies. Collaborates with leaders and key stakeholders to understand strategic business initiatives and develops solutions that satisfy those needs. Forward thinking advisor who possesses extensive knowledge and is well-versed in emerging trends. Widely recognized Product Strategy expert and thought leader by both internal and external community.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the holistic product strategy for utilization management (UM).

  • Connect each individual UM product to be aligned with the vision and strategy of UM.

  • Build and manage the UM product roadmap with a focus on emerging trends and transformation of the UM space.

  • Lead the needs assessment and viability of emerging UM products and solutions.

  • Conduct full-cycle product development including but not limited to ideation, market research, competitive intelligence, solution concept and design, prototyping, testing, and commercialization.

  • Manage new products through successful execution and build plan to transition to business leaders.

  • Align with and leverage the portfolio process to build in funding for products on the roadmap.

  • Enable and leverage cross-functional teams to help with the design and implementation process of new products and solutions.

  • Build financial plan, viability assessment, and timeline for new products to achieve margin.

  • Coordinates, and influences product managers of existing UM products to ensure improvements to existing products are aligned with the UM product strategy.

  • Recommend and build plans to decommission existing products to align with the UM product strategy.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred and 10+ years of experience in a related field including PBS/Medical Benefits Management (MBM) healthcare, corporate development, and strategic planning.

  • Graduate degree in related field a plus.

  • 7+ years experience with new product development required.

  • Experience in directing or working with multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.

  • Proven track record for success in leading high-performing teams in a matrixed environment.

  • Demonstrated thought leadership on challenging problems with examples of implementing innovative analytic and operational solutions and driving outstanding results.

  • Strong verbal/written communication and leadership skills to work with external parties and various matrix partners, including but not limited to Finance, Legal, Technology and Human Resources.

  • Ability to manage a vision and purpose with various business stakeholders and analytics teams.

  • Effective leadership, prioritization and management of complex deliverable portfolio in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to efficiently develop insights from analytics and assess attractiveness of various concepts.
