Cigna Operations Senior Supervisor - Express Scripts in Burlington, New Jersey

Leads Operations Management team with full technical responsibility for team output. Focuses on ensuring short-term outputs and the effectiveness of team integration with other work areas. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Decisions and problem-solving are guided by policies, procedures and business plan. Provides input into workforce planning and recruitment activities. This role typically leads a team focusing on Business Operations.

Job Description

The Operations Senior Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations for a team of employees. Plans and directs work flow and project assignments. Coordinates the completion of orders received from the Front End. Conducts training, evaluation of staff and maintains regular communication. Responsible for the team’s adherence to corporate attendance and employment policies. Works with management to develop and implement company policies, procedures and the business work plans for the team. Recognizes, recommends and implements operational improvements.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in development of programs and process improvement to enhance the level of internal and external customer service. Promote a team oriented environment.

  • Manage and leads team of pharmacy operations staff. Works to develop employee’s skills, evaluates performance and provides feedback.

  • Assures all department and company policies are being followed. Provide on-going coaching and communication employees (goals, quality, accountability and productivity).

  • Work with site leadership team to implement strategic business plans.

  • Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • BA/BS degree preferred

  • 6-8 years relevant operations experience (i.e., pharmacy, warehouse, distribution, production, manufacturing, or engineering)

  • Must be eligible to obtain a pharmacy technician license issued through the New Jersey State Board of Pharmacy and maintain throughout time in position.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively develop, train and coach less experienced team members;

  • 3-5 years’ experience managing staff

  • Knowledge of lean or process improvement methodologies

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment, make independent decisions

  • Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule for peak times

  • Monitors daily operations of a unit and actively assists or provides direction to subordinates as required

  • May perform, especially in staff or professional groups ongoing operational tasks of organization units

  • Ensures that projects are completed on schedule following established procedures and schedules

  • General PC knowledge including Microsoft Office, Internet, and email
