The Cigna Group Tax Manager EMEA in Glasgow, United Kingdom

Reporting into the Head of Tax EMEA, you will responsibility for supporting the management of the tax affairs of the group for the EMEA region across all taxes.

Organisation

Cigna is a leading global healthcare insurance provider.

The tax team consists of 2 additional persons and covers both direct and indirect taxes across the EMEA region, with the majority of tax compliance outsourced to a third party provider.

Duties and responsibilities

As tax compliance is outsourced, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensuring the group meets and maintains its compliance obligations

  • Providing data as required, and resolving any issues with data quality

  • Responding to compliance related queries

  • Reviewing filings prior to submission

  • Overseeing the posting of journals and processing payments

You will also be responsible for providing a broad range of tax advisory services including:

  • Providing information for tax audits and supporting the Head of Tax EMEA with tax audits

  • Monitoring the controls framework

  • Resolving issues escalated by the compliance provider

  • Other compliance activities outside the scope of the compliance provider

  • Technical advice and planning across all taxes to support the Head of Tax EMEA

  • Implementing process improvement

  • Business partnering

  • Managing the impact of relevant changes in tax legislation

Experience Required

  • CA/CTA or equivalent qualification essential

  • Minimum 5 years experience

  • Technical knowledge of insurance and financial service industry is preferable

  • International experience essential

  • Working knowledge of UK and US GAAP

  • Experience of Oracle, Hyperion and Global Access or similar packages preferable
