About you:

The successful candidate will be a highly experienced Senior Strategy Lead with in-depth knowledge of the Health Insurance Industry and 10+ years’ experience in Strategic Technology Programmes for business wide change. This seasoned Senior Strategy Professional should be confident to work across all areas of the Cigna International Health Business with experience in facilitating and leading cross departmental workshops with multiple levels of attendees as this role will be working with internal and external stakeholders to create strategically aligned technology roadmaps whilst supporting solution development to maximize value and ensure key business outcomes are achieved.

Specifically, you will have:

  • A good understanding of system design, data & analytics, software architecture and software engineering practices, being able to understand, provide input on and challenge solution design decisions, as well as effectively conveying technical concepts to others.

  • Extensive experience working with delivery teams in a scaled Agile environment, using a variety of methodologies including Kanban and Scrum.

  • Strong communication skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence and an ability to persuade others and manage expectations accordingly.

  • Excellent people management, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills and anability to lead, coach, support and motivate others.

  • Strong business case creation skills with a focus on prioritization and value creation.

  • Motivation and a professional drive and are able to manage multiple high priority assignments simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

As a strategy lead, one of your key responsibilities is to conduct discovery activities to gain insights and gather information that will inform the development of strategic solutions. Discovery activities are aimed at understanding the current state of the organization, identifying challenges and opportunities, and formulating effective strategies to achieve the desired objectives. Specifically you will:

  • Support the cultural, technological, and methodology transformation in line with the broader IHDS organization, and business strategy/transformation.

  • Help design IT systems and procedures.

  • Collaborate with architecture, product owners, delivery teams and other key stakeholders to help define product strategy, the technical vision and high-level strategic roadmaps.

  • Conduct organizational studies and evaluations.

  • Support the supplier selection processes where solutions require significant third-party involvement.

  • Stay current with digital technologies and trends to ensure the organization stays competitive.

  • Use data to drive any decision-making and in general promote a data driven culture.

  • Ensure that solutions are designed in such a way that they deliver maximum value to the customer and demonstrate this empirically.

  • Develop a deep understanding of the key business drivers to validate that initiatives and any associated changes, meet the desired business outcomes.

  • Identify and surface key risks and issues, building an effective approach to mitigation and securing support when necessary.

  • Partner with vendors and suppliers to maximize the value that they bring to solution development.

  • Establish a reporting/communication cadence that provides both the business and technology leadership with transparency on the roadmap, value, budgeting, and status of key activities.

  • Develop a range of strategic options and scenarios based on the identified issues and opportunities. These options should consider the organization's strengths, weaknesses, and external factors. Brainstorm creative and innovative ideas that have the potential to drive the organization's growth and success.

  • Present the findings, insights, and strategic options to the relevant stakeholders and decision-makers. Clearly communicate the rationale behind each option, the potential benefits, and the associated risks. Provide a well-supported recommendation for the most suitable strategic direction based on the discovery activities.
