Cigna Executive Assistant to President, U.S. Commercial Business in Raleigh, North Carolina

This position is supporting the President of U.S. Commercial Business.


  • Perform diversified and confidential administrative duties to department head, and other members of team as required, utilizing broad and comprehensive experience, skill and knowledge of organization policies and practices.

  • Screen telephone calls & visitors. Resolve routine and complex inquiries

  • Schedule meetings and travel itineraries (including international travel) and coordinate related arrangements.

  • Manage an effective calendaring system for principal and look for opportunities to enhance efficiencies. Make last minute calendaring decisions based on priority and business needs using sound judgment.

  • Prepare and distribute materials for meetings. This includes consolidation of materials into single presentations and setting up LYNC meetings.

  • Attend staff meetings, track and follow up on action items and manage invitations for guest attendees

  • Schedule and coordinate town hall meetings

  • Publish and maintain department organization chart

  • Maintain and coordinate department distribution lists

  • Order equipment and supplies using the portal supply system

  • Manage department vendor payment activities, track and approve invoices, assume delegate responsibilities for travel and expense entry for department head using Concur.

  • Work closely with peer administrative and executive assistants in a team environment


  • Candidate should have a minimum of 5 to 10 years of progressively responsible administrative and executive assistant experience.

  • Represent department using excellent verbal and written communication skills. Can work independently and maintain confidential information. Possess a strong sense of urgency and the ability to work in a very high-paced environment with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Effective calendar management experience is critical- Outlook preferred.

  • Experience with supporting a virtual workforce

  • Demonstrate flexibility to not only support department head, but also other team members as required.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Ability to remain composed and focused in stressful situations utilizing customer centricity skills

  • Demonstrate initiative to anticipate work flow needs and proactively plan accordingly.

  • Expert skills in Microsoft applications - Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel with a willingness to learn advanced skills as appropriate.

  • Possess technical proficiencies with audio and voice equipment as well as mobile and desktop devices.
