Cigna Agile Product Owner - Business Project Manager in United States


Often referred to as the “Voice of the Customer” on agile projects or the “Product Manager” on traditional projects, the Agile Product Owner is the person responsible for the product backlog including communicating the customer requirements (through user stories). The Agile Product Owner role is critical to the success of an agile product development effort. In addition to communicating requirements and other activities, the agile product owner is also primarily responsible for the defining user acceptance criteria for requirements, prioritizing and managing the product backlog, as well as collaborating with the development Team throughout the iterative development cycle.


Scope of Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyzes and translates business requirements into detailed User Stories and business rules
  • Responsible for development of the product backlog, ensuring the acceptance criteria meets the business priorities and desired outcomes
  • Prioritizes the Product Backlog, to ensure that the team is working on stories that maximize business value and deliver necessary fixes and functionality to all customers
  • Serves as a SME for system development and/or enhancement projects for new or existing applications/processes aligned to the Provider Managed Finance Receive Claim Payment Experience
  • Supports business readiness activities including business testing and Production Simulation to ensure the results meet the business needs


  • Must have strong business skills and experience,with in depth understanding of business functions and capabilities supported by the components of the claim pricing process
  • Past experience working with technology teams, or the ability and interest to learn how to work with technology teams
  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 years’ experience in Healthcare environment required
  • Working knowledge of Trizetto NetworX Pricer or other Pricing assets required
  • Prior claims experience or working knowledge of claim systems preferred
  • Ability to translate business needs into actionable business rules and requirements
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Flexibility to change course based on business needs; effectively manage and deal with change
